Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Operations Technician with CI/CD and DevOps expertise to deliver consulting and operational services to enterprise end clients. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and operating automated delivery pipelines, infrastructure, and operational tooling to enable reliable, secure, and scalable software delivery.
The successful candidate will work closely with development, security, and operations teams, contributing to high-quality service delivery and continuous improvement across environments.

Key Responsibilities / Deliverables
CI/CD & DevOps Delivery
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines to streamline build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Reduce manual intervention and errors while accelerating development and release cycles.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Develop and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code principles.
  • Ensure environments are consistent, repeatable, scalable, and compliant.
System Monitoring & Logging
  • Implement and manage monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to track system health, performance, and availability.
  • Enable proactive incident detection, root cause analysis, and optimisation.
Security Implementation (DevSecOps)
  • Embed security controls into the development and deployment lifecycle.
  • Implement vulnerability scanning, security automation, and compliance enforcement aligned with organisational and regulatory standards.
Deployment Management
  • Automate and oversee application deployments across multiple environments.
  • Ensure minimal downtime, smooth transitions, and rollback strategies where required.
Troubleshooting & Incident Resolution
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve issues across CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and applications.
  • Provide timely resolution to incidents and contribute to problem management activities.
Performance Optimisation
  • Analyse system and application performance.
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to enhance scalability and reliability.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Act as a bridge between development, operations, and security teams.
  • Promote DevOps best practices and a culture of shared ownership and continuous learning.
Documentation
  • Produce and maintain clear documentation covering processes, configurations, pipelines, and infrastructure.
  • Support knowledge transfer and long-term maintainability.
Process Improvement
  • Continuously assess and improve delivery and operational processes.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise efficiency, quality, and cost.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong experience in CI/CD pipeline design and automation
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation, etc.)
  • Experience with monitoring and logging platforms
  • Solid understanding of DevOps and DevSecOps practices
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in client-facing or consulting environments
  • Ability to work across on-site and remote delivery models

Desirable Skills
  • Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.)
  • Knowledge of IT service management practices (ITIL)
